Paddle through London’s oldest canal from Limehouse to Crate Brewery’s bar on the water’s edge in Hackney Wick.
An urban adventure in London. If you’ve never canoed before that’s fine. This adventure is suitable for anyone 18 yrs and over with an ability to swim. Staff will be on hand before you set off to issue equipment, talk you through the route, and assist with launch and landing.
At just over 5km, the route follows the Limehouse Cut and River Lea with houseboats, warehouses, swans and other birdlife along the way. During the journey you’ll be free to paddle at your own pace, but we recommend sticking with the group to keep things sociable.
We recommend Crate Brewery for your arrival or try one of the other great bars and restaurants in Hackney Wick. These include The Milk Float, Barge East; Number 90; Grow, Beer Merchants Tap, and Gotto – all of which are located at the end point of the adventure.
Bring some warm and waterproof clothes for this adventure and a waterproof jacket. Also something warm to change into at the other end in case you get splashed/ damp along the way.
There is a van to take your bags up to the end point which leaves at 6.30pm sharp. Please arrive 10 minutes before if you are booked on the 6.30pm slot and wish to have bags taken to the end point. We cannot be held responsible for your belongings.
